The Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission (OFRPC) is seeking a dedicated Recycling Center Supervisor to oversee operations for the Ozark Foothills Recycling Center. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) based at our facility in the Poplar Bluff industrial park.
The OFRPC was created to facilitate cooperative efforts among its member municipalities and counties to solve problems and plan for the future development of the region’s human, natural, and economic resources. Our agency serves a five-county region, including Butler, Carter, Reynolds, Ripley, and Wayne counties, promoting public health, safety, and economic prosperity.

• 35-hour work week (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday).
• Salary Range: $42,000 – $47,000 annually.

Areas of Responsibility
The Supervisor will perform a wide range of duties crucial to the efficient operation of the Recycling Center and its regional collection programs.
• Facility Management: Oversee daily operations at the recycling center located at 1625 Rowe Parkway in Poplar Bluff.
• Logistics & Collection: Coordinate and execute the pickup of recycling trailers from satellite locations in Doniphan, Ellington, Piedmont, and Van Buren.
• Material Oversight: Manage the intake and processing of accepted materials, including corrugated cardboard, aluminum, tin, specific plastics, and various paper products.
• Equipment Maintenance: Monitor facility machinery; basic knowledge of mechanics and machine repair is highly valued.
• Personnel Supervision: Provide leadership and direction to center staff and community service workers to ensure a productive and safe work environment.
• Public Relations: Represent the organization through professional correspondence and provide clear information to the general public regarding accepted and prohibited materials (such as tires, glass, and electronics).
Required Qualifications & Skills
• CDL License: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or have the ability to attain one.
• Managerial Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is a plus.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Knowledge of mechanics and machine repair is preferred.
• Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interacting with the public and member jurisdictions.
• Organizational Ability: Superior time management skills to handle complex collection schedules and multiple priorities.
• Technical Literacy: Competency with technology for data entry and operational tracking.
