The Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission seeks a highly motivated individual to lead the development of a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan for a five-county region over a two year period. This position will play a critical role in improving roadway safety and reducing traffic fatalities and serious injuries within the region. The OFRPC was created to facilitate the cooperative effort of its member municipalities and counties in solving problems and planning the future development of human, natural, and economic resources of the Ozark Foothills region. The Commission serves as a guide to local units of government in accomplishing a coordinated and efficient development of the region and the promotion of its public health, safety, general welfare, and economic prosperity in accordance with the area's existing and future needs.

Salary Range: $35,000-$38,000
Responsibilities:
Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret crash data, traffic volume data, and other relevant information to identify high-risk locations and safety issues.
Safety Assessment: Conduct safety assessments of roadways, intersections, and other transportation facilities to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
Plan Development: Develop a comprehensive safety action plan that outlines strategies, projects, and programs to address identified safety issues.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to gather input and build consensus on safety priorities.
Public Outreach: Develop and implement public outreach and education campaigns to raise awareness of safety issues and promote safe transportation behaviors.
Grant Writing: Identify and pursue grant funding opportunities to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Community Development, Urban and Regional Planning, Public Policy, Political Science, Geography (GIS), Economics, Demographics, or a closely related field, OR relevant experience working in the transportation/community development/planning field.
· Must be able to travel regularly and work within the OFRPC region, including some evenings, and occasional overnight travel to state wide meetings and conferences.
· Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess and maintain an active driver’s license.
· Strong competency with technology and web-based software, GIS experience a plus.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
