The City of Williamsville will hold a public hearing at 6:15 p.m., prior to the beginning of a Special Council Meeting on Friday, December 7th, 2021, at the Williamsville City Hall located at 114 S. Main Street, Williamsville, MO 63967.  The reason is to discuss the submission of an application for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for a project to replace the Community Center roof. The city is interested in obtaining all citizens’ input on community development needs within the area. As part of the hearing process, citizens will be asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessment document. The document will detail what the residents feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the community. Local participation is needed to reflect the true desires of the entire community, as well as comments relating to the proposed project application. Activities that are eligible for funding include the improvement of public works, public facilities, city-owned infrastructure, and others allowed by law. At least 51% of the funds must be used to benefit low-and-moderate income persons. No displacement of persons will be proposed.

The City of Williamsville is proposing to support a project to replace the roof of the Community Center building.  This building holds an historic and sentimental significance to the community and is currently underutilized due to much needed repairs.  Replacing the roof will be the first step in this process.  The total project cost is currently estimated at $37,000. The CDBG request amount is the entirety of the project cost. The project, if funded, will meet the low to moderate income national objective. All citizens, including those in the targeted area, are encouraged to attend to comment on the proposed activities.

For more information on the proposed project, contact Mayor Sandy Joy or City Clerk Lynn Schultz at 573-998-2449.  If you need special accommodations for the public hearing, including LEP assistance please contact City Clerk Lynn Schultz by Thursday, December 6th, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at an accessible location and the city will make every effort possible to provide reasonable accommodations.
