The Carter County Commissioners will be accepting bid proposals for tree removal and site clearing for the Justice Center Project funded with federal and state hazard mitigation grant funds on a 4.25 acre site located at the intersection of Main Street and Broadway Street in Van Buren, MO. until 9:00 AM, January 15, 2021. Sealed bid proposals shall be delivered to the Carter County Commissioner’s office, located at 308 Main Street, PO Box 517 Van Buren, MO 63965. Proposals shall be labeled as follows:

A public bid opening will be held promptly at 9:00 AM, January 15, 2021 at the offices of the Carter County Commission located at 308 Main Street, Van Buren, MO 63965
Electronic Bid Documents (Plans and Project Manual) will be available on January 4, 2021 through the office of the Architect. Contact Mike Pollard at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information. Printed copies will be available upon request for a non-refundable fee of Seventy-Five Dollars ($75.00) for each set of Bid Documents. Checks are to be made payable to the architect. Plans may be shipped for a non-refundable charge of $25.00 plus the cost of shipping. All addenda will be issued to all plan holders that have obtained their documents through the office of the Architect. It is the bidder’s responsibility to verify if any addenda have been issued. Bid Documents may be viewed at no charge at the office of the Architect.
To be considered, bids must be made in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders included in the Project Manual. Each bidder must submit a Surety Bid Bond in the amount of (5%) five percent of their bid amount. The selected Contractor will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Surety Bonds for the full amount of the Contract and shall include this cost in their bid. Carter County, Missouri is a tax-exempt organization. Davis Bacon and/or State Prevailing Wages apply. Segregated Facility, Section 109, and E.O. 11246. MBE, WBE and Section 3-DBE bidders are encouraged to bid.
All bids must be on a lump sum basis for each section of work. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of (60) sixty days after the bid date. The Owner will evaluate bids based on the best interest of the OWNER and will award the project to the lowest and best qualified bidder. Bids will be opened in public and read aloud.
The Owner maintains the right to approve any and all sub-contractors and reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
